Can you share one of your habits that contribute to your success in the gym? I love what I do and I do what I love. I only do things that help me move toward my desired goal and I do them consistently.

What are your favourite exercises? Right now: Bent press, kettlebell swings, deadlifts, grip work, bending steel, lifting sledgehammers.

What are your favourite muscle groups to train? Grip/hand strength and old-time strongman feats

What are your favourite pieces of equipment? Barbells, kettlebells, sledgehammers, pieces of steel. Electric guitars and amplifiers. My grill.

What is currently on your workout music playlist? Texas Hippie Coalition, Pantera, Amon Amarth, Black Label Society

How do you psych up for a workout or set? I wake up in the morning.

What was one exercise or routine that gave you great gains in muscle mass and/or strength? When my steel bending is strong, I am all over strong.

What’s your favourite way to speed up recovery between workouts? Sleep. Seriously, it is the most overlooked and under rated recovery you can do.

I also practice breathing exercises, meditation, cold exposure and yoga poses as a part of my regular routine

What’s your favourite meal? A big-ass spinach salad and an even bigger-ass steak.

What’s your favourite cheat meal and how often do you indulge? Fried chicken strips, French Fries, chocolate chip cookies and beer/wine/whiskey. I blow that up about once a week.

What supplements do you feel work well for you? Steak. Anything caffeinated.

What do you do to relax? I love in the woods, so I just go sit and be.
