Put A Little STEM Into Your Writing (STEM Everyday #30)

September 02, 2015

For many of us we are just starting a new school year.  Don't just have your students write about what they did this summer, this is a great time to put a little stem into their writing.  Find a STEM topic and challenge them to rise to the occasion and see what they can do to conquer your challenge.(http://remarkablechatter.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Screen-Shot-2015-09-01-at-3.55.42-PM-300x205.png)

For instance  you can use something like the following web site to ignite a students creativity. Twelve Ways the World Could End... http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/g696/12-ways-the-world-could-really-end-in-2012/ (http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/g696/12-ways-the-world-could-really-end-in-2012/)  Topics like  what how can you stop an astroid that will destroy the earth or you need to stop an influenza pandemic can get your students wanting to write and become creative as they do so.
