Unlike many legal documents, a trust does not have to be recorded, so its contents stay private. Also, it is a useful vehicle to keep you and your family from going though interdiction or probate.
Recording a Trust with Real Estate
One limitation of a trust’s ability to protect your privacy is when it is applied to real estate. La. RS 9:2092 deals with recordation of trusts when real estate is involved.
