Welcoming Neutrality into our Unfolding Lives? [SSL78]

July 12, 2017

Are you the kind of person that would win a million dollars only to immediately begin worrying about who would start to "come out of the woodwork" to pressure you for money? Or would winning a lot of money free you from all sorts of cares and worries?

Have you known someone who will complain about things taking a very dark turn in situations you would consider happy or fortunate?

How do our storylines and perceived meaning of unfolding events vary so much?

We all create a storyline as we encounter people and situations and these tales take us on a specific path and cement certain kinds of mindsets.

Today, I offer a reflection about stories that should be left unwritten. I also share a useful parable that invites us to witness a liberating perspective of neutrality rather than the usual good/bad binary storylines we are bent on assigning within the unfolding of our lives.
