Confirmed! Star Wars Land opening in 2019! As reported by comicbook.com, the new Star Wars Land parks in Disneyland and Disney World have an opening year! Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed on Tuesday that both versions of the parks will open in 2019. Originally announced during the 2015 D23 Expo, SWL will feature a 14 acre themed area that will transport us to a galaxy far far away. SWL will feature aliens, droids, a life size Millennium Falcon, alien structures and locations as well as several new Star Wars themed rides.
"Our intent is to make it feel as if you've just walked into one of the movies," Imagineering executive Scott Trowbridge said of the parks. "Bringing Star Wars to life in the physical world gives us the opportunity to play with a whole bunch of things we've never done before, to really engage all of the senses."
Donald Glover, cast as Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo movie, was see having lunch with BDW. BDW has since spoken with the Hollywood Reporter about his meeting with Glover and revealed that he gave him his blessing as well as some tips. He also revealed that he would be willing to return to the Star Wars franchise. Basically stating that all they have to do is ask. He mentioned that he saw The Force Awakens and really enjoyed it.
While everyone is up in arms about who the “Last Jedi” is, another question regarding Episode VIII is who will Benicio Del Toro be playing? Sourced from Radiotimes.com, a Redditor named DARTH_HODOR poses an interesting theory on the matter. Del Toro is playing Ray’s father. And his character’s name? Ezra Bridger. For those that don’t know, Ezra is the main character in Disney’s Star Wars Rebels TV series. A young orphan that goes on to become a Jedi Padawan. His theory goes on to say that Rebels will end with Bridger joining Luke’s Jedi Academy and will then eventually turn to the dark side and join forces with Snoke to manipulate the Jedi, starting, as we know, with Ben Solo (Kylo Ren).
