Steve Higgs is the Executive Director of SAGE (Senior Advocates for Generational Equity). He is dedicated to inspiring adults over 50 to get involved in causes that benefit children, youth, and future generations. Steve is a passionate lover of the natural world, and has a long background in environmental law and nonprofit conservation campaigns, so the mission of SAGE struck an immediate chord.

SAGE raises awareness about the major social, environmental, and economic challenges that younger and future generations face, and engages older adults as leaders to address those challenges. Our supporters are guided by generational equity – the principle that each generation should sustain or improve the quality of life for the next.

The boomers are the first group of people in history who have a much longer life expectancy. Some have excess resources and some don’t but they all have ‘boomer expertise’ to impart. The can get involved by volunteering in SAGE’s short-term projects , they can become a SAGE Fellow – which is a 9-month time investment in a community project, or they can become a partner who step up as advisors for other community organizations.
