Pursuing Lifelong Learning

January 07, 2015

Baret Acaya is a New York-based voice teacher. She’s had a career in classical singing and acting. Early on in her career, she was offered a plethora of movie contracts but that wasn’t the path she wanted to take.

Baret’s goal was not to be in the movies or to be an actor. Her dream was to sign classical music. She’s found that by following her passion, she’s more comfortable with herself. She chose to take training to be a teacher and found what she was supposed to do. She continued that pursuit of lifelong learning to reach the pinnacle of her career on both fronts.

Her advice to people that once they’ve found what they want to do and to commit themselves, they’ll find success. She pursued teaching initially because she wanted to perfect her singing technique. She studied the Alexander Technique in London to learn to overcome her stage fright.

Now she teaches the technique as well as performing full time. Her clients include Broadway stars, as well as lawyers and business people. Learn more about Baret at HabitAndChoice.com.
