This week was a pretty good one. There were Olympics on the tube and the heat (at least in Nashville) wasn’t the worst. All in all not a bad one. Except for the part where we recorded the last regular episode as a cast of 4. You see, K’s go this other podcast, All That is Nerd, and over there he gets to be way nerdier than we’ll let him on this one.
So, we decided that we should diversify and do the thing right. Don’t worry, though, K will still join us once a month and we’ll nerd out together once again. Until then however, enjoy the 27th episode of the SluffCast!

It seems that in the rush to try and make the next huge franchise, studios are forgetting that they need to make good movies first. And this Summer was littered with that sort of film. Huntsmen Winter’s War (trying to reinvent from the first), BVS, Suicide Squad, X-Men: Apocalypse (trying to launch the new team of heroes), Warcraft, Legend of Tarzan, Ghostbusters (given consumer response and Sony’s shortfall). All considered failures based on studio projections.
