“The Vigil”: Holding onto grief, trauma, and the past for too long

February 27, 2021

Writer/Director Keith Thomas uses Jewish lore and folk monsters in his feature debut "The Vigil" and talks about the path through grief, rituals and monsters that led him to making this movie.

Keith talks about making such a culturally specific film and seeing how audiences from different backgrounds have been responding, doing the research into specific entities from Jewish lore to find his central creature, and much more, including working on his next project, a new adaptation of Stephen King's "Firestarter" for Blumhouse.
