From the Nashville Studios of the Xb H S Radio Network. I'm Skip Oram, and this is the Anchor Point Podcast. Hi, everybody from the X B H S radio studios here on Printers Alley in Nashville, Tennessee. Welcome to The Anchor Point, the Anchor point, your faith and fitness podcast for, for us older folks in our fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond. January's gone and we're halfway through February of this exciting new year of 2023.
(01:06):
I'm so happy right now because many of you have decided to join me in making 2023 your year of faith and fitness and health improvement. New listeners, by the way, are joining the podcast with every new episode, and I'm really happy about that. We have folks pushing the play button on this podcast from everywhere, and I'm just not talking about the United States, but all over the world. Those folks looking to increase their faith, fight, disease, get healthy, and live a long, happy, and healthy life. On today's episode, we're focusing on the research element of the anchor point disease, fighting and fitness model, the disease fighting and fitness model. It has seven elements, faith, diet, exercise, attitude, positive imagery, music, and the element we're going to focus on today research. Before we get started today, I wanted to thank those of you who took the time to email me about the short interval training heart rate training workout, which was part of last week's episode.
(02:25):
Some of you were able to go all out and, and complete the workout. Many of you enjoyed the opportunity to learn about and practice heart rate training, and a lot of our listeners are going to add heart rate training to their fitness routine. If you want, you can download that workout from the AudioBurst page of the anchor point.com website, and that way you can practice the workout, do the workout anytime you want. Several of the emails I received were asking me about additional information on how to measure your heart rate and, and then how to track it while doing the workouts. As I, I mentioned on the episode last week, I prefer and, and I actually think it's easier to just listen to my body and then let my body tell me which heart rate zone I'm exercising in. There are though more exact ways you can determine your individualized heart rate for each of the training zones and then measure it during your workout.
(03:39):
So in answer to all of those of you who emailed me, I've decided to make next week's episode all about measuring and tracking your heart rate while exercising that episode, focusing on measuring and then tracking your heart rate while exercising. It'll drop next Friday. Also, on that episode, we'll talk about, and I'll review some of the fitness devices out there that are designed to measure and track not only your heart rate, but also your overall health and fitness. That's next week, Friday, February 24th on the Anchor Point Podcast, and then everybody the following week, March 3rd, that Anchor point episode will be a standalone 25 minutes heart rate training workout, a special all workout episode of The Anchor Point Podcast March 3rd. I'll talk more about that on next week's episode and one more response to an email. One listener notice that I changed the anchor point opening theme song first to that one listener. Thanks for noticing. I changed it away from the sort of surf music int...
