Relationships: Learning to Love Yourself after a broken Relationship

Kemi Sogunle,
Certified Professional Coach

Relationships are complex and require a lot of work. So, it is heart wrenching when your relationship fails. This month, we discuss relationships with the experts. Ms. Kemi Sogunle is an award-winning author, international speaker and certified professional coach. She began her journey to becoming a life and relationship coach after her separation and divorce, which led her to soul-searching.

Her mission in life is to support single men and women in finding who they are after becoming broken or divorced. She teaches deeply about self-love, transparency and the need to live purposefully to her clients. She equips them to develop positive and healthier habits before entering another relationship.

Ms. Sogunle is also the Founder/CEO of the nonprofit organization (501c3), Love Not Hurt, an organization that promotes self-development, building healthier and stronger relationships while living with purpose.

Kemi provided several tips to overcome the loneliness felt by individuals when recovering from broken relationships that include:

1.       Get a positive accountability partner who can help you stay focused.

2.       Learn to forgive yourself and others, it is the start to healing.

3.       Build your relationship with Christ through prayer, meditation and reading the Bible.

4.       Get out and get social – join support groups or go to the gym. Be active.

5.       Maintain a journal. Write down your thoughts and track your progress.
