* I wanted to re-connect with my feminine self.
* I wanted to be sexy. I am a woman. I wanted that piece of me.
* I wanted to move into that fun, sexy, flirty energy.
* Burlesque is actually a very intellectual pursuit.
* Everybody should do something that they want to do, whether it’s sewing or gardening.
* Every routine, is a story, a piece of your heart.
* A part of burlesque is about making fun of the status quo.
* That really attracted me, that I can put a message into an art form and connect with people in a non-threatening way.
* When you are on stage, you are the vulnerable one.
* I give people permission to watch me be vulnerable.
* To see me dancing, or maybe even tripping and I still can be happy and confident.
* I cannot tell you how many times after the show, women come up to me in tears saying, “You did that! You showed your stomach!”
* She is not going bad. She is just moving into that power, moving into that energy.
* That routine really represented releasing my role, and coming back to my soul.
* I wasn’t really living because it (work as an attorney) sucks the energy and the joy out of me.
* It was a lot to walk away from.
* I thought this is where my heart is. This is where I can create more good this way.
* You have to try. You have to fail. And you have to try again.
* I understand that what I do might often some people.
* I allow them (others) to accept or not accept the information that I am giving them.
* Enjoy yourself and have that fun because it will make us better people with each other.
* We got to find our fetish.
* If we are not laughing out loud and sharing our joy with others, life has no purpose.
* Find a way to laugh everyday.
* We tend to put in our own interpretation and we don’t listen to what others are telling us.
* Things happen all the time. It’s our perception that makes it negative.
* And above all, we need to trust what we know inside.
* I believe in the full integration of the body, the mind and the spirit.
* You can be a fake opera star.
