We've all been deeply affected by images coming out of Afghanistan this week. The chaos, desperation and slaughter of innocent men, women and children has overwhelmed our emotions.

That makes today a good day to remember that Jeremiah saw a similar attack against his own people. But even in the darkest of days, Jeremiah reminded us all that hope is still available for anyone with faith willing to trust in God.
