The Power of Toolsets: Web Video,Web Conferencing, and  Teleconferencing

In this series we develop a better understanding of the role of web video, conferencing with simple tools such as Skype or GoToMeeting and the range of teleconference options available to instructors in K-12, Higher Ed and Continuing Ed. We discuss some of the tools that allow flexibility and creativity to become another facet of education, but also touch on some of the challenges for IT supporting a variety of platforms and content types. Professor Josh Murdock, of Valencia College in Orlando, FL is no stranger to technology in education. In fact, for the past fifteen years he has been both practitioner and evangelist in the rapidly changing world of instructional technology. Both of us were part of a recent Tech Day with videoconferencing leader LifeSize, in Austin, TX.
