No Pants PilsnerBrewed by:Pontoon Brewing Co.Atlanta, GAStyle | ABVSouthern Pilsner | 5.5%Description: In our early years of home brewing we lacked the equipment to properly lager beers at a low/consistent temperature especially in Georgia’s muggy hot summers. We tried all kinds of wacky solutions including a continuous onslaught of ice bags but we just weren’t getting the results we desired. We were introduced to a unique and underutilized lager yeast strain that has the ability to ferment at higher temperatures. Once we brewed our first batch with this yeast we fell in love with the ability to reach the smoothness of a lager while still obtaining the full flavor of an ale. After we brewed countless versions of our Pilsner we landed on a special recipe that includes German and Bohemian flavors of a Pilsner with pilsen malt and czech saaz hops. The No Pants Pilsner is a smooth pilsner style ale-lager that provides a light mouth feel with pine flavors and the smooth finish common to a pilsner. We call this style a Southern Pilsner and is commonly referred to as a California Common and also a little known beer style called a Schenk Beer. The Schenk beer style has a very historical importance to the Georgia beer brewing beginnings. -Pontoon Brewing Co.Kentucky Bourbon Barrel AleBrewed by:Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co.Lexington, KYStyle | ABVBarrel Aged Ale | 8.2%Description: Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale® is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.
