In 2007, the Forward named Rothstein one of the 50 most influential Jews in America, and in 2011, the Jerusalem Post named her the 29th of 50 most influential Jews in the world. Rothstein worked for the Westside Jewish Community Center for 10 years and served on the boards of several Jewish organizations. A native of Los Angeles, Rothstein is the child of Holocaust survivors. Rothstein holds a degree in psychology and worked as a family therapist for over two decades in California.
