S2D012- Blood Test & Diabetic Review

May 16, 2014

As you all know i has been saying for the past few weeks that i am expecting my diabetic review, so today Monday 12/05/14 i phoned my doctors sugary up to find out what is happening with my review, after waiting 10 minuet on hold I finally got though to someone and asked them to see if a letter has been sent out for my review, to my amazement they said no, it is not due until the 21 November 2014 which is really odd because i have them on them around May time each year, this is just not on because there should be an system in place that the clerical staff should be able to see or there system should point out that it is over a year to the next review.

Now I am really concerned about this as if I was needing that review to base thing off or as a base reference then I would be put out and not have it, the whole thing seem like they are not bothered about the condition and the lady on reception did not know anything she just kept asking someone to help, well in that case put me on the phone with the other person). I  have requested a phone back to see why this has happened as this could of had really bad reputations for me and my family.

The doctors phoned me back and they said "I don't know why the nurse if that but it is of concerns that she did" in other words oh well never mind she don't work for us any more, but never the less I booked in for my blood test and review.

So it got to Thursday morning and time for the blood test and all was going well until the nurse took the blood, WOW let me tell you, it was not the best blood test i have had if anything it was the worse because this one stung and hurt when she put the needle in and it is still hurting now, so the worst blood test ever. Let me know if you have had any bad experiences about blood test.

Now that my little rant about how  grate the doctors is  I am going to start a small segment for weight loss tips these are not only going to be for diabetics and some may not be for us at all but I will adapt them to suit all of us.
Getting started on a diet.
If you are going to starting a diet, you need to make sure that you are fully committed about it. In other words, you need to have the discipline and the determination to follow through it, in order to achieve your fitness goals you first my decide what your goals are? Aside from that, you should also have the right motivation to stay on track.
If Type 2 diabetes can't be prevented, how can you reduce your risk of getting it?
Firstly you need to know your chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. You can find out your risk using our simple, online Diabetes Risk Score Test (http://www.diabetes.org.uk/risk?utm_source=awareness-campaign&utm_medium=microsite&utm_campaign=reducing-risk-page).

Some risk factors such as age, gender and ethnicity can't be changed – but lifestyle can. We know that up to 80 per cent of cases of Type 2 diabetes can be delayed or prevented, and risk can be reduced by up to 60 per cent after making some basic lifestyle changes. If you are overweight, every kilogram you lose could reduce your risk by up to 15 per cent.

People always feel overwhelmed with the information they read which requires them to make some kind of physical effort. They feel the workout is too strenuous, the schedule is too rigorous, the days aren't long enough to fit in the workout, etc. The only thing stopping you from reaching the goals you've dreamed of reaching is yourself!
This saying is very true as I can look back and see what i have  been doing for years and now I can say that it is time to act
