Tiny r(E)volution - Interview with Michael Janzen

June 20, 2013

By day Michael Janzen is a professional web designer. By night he’s an aspiring writer and tiny house designer and builder. But his personal story is one of climbing to the top of the hill only to realize that success and happiness are really defined by how you choose to spend your time on earth and who you choose to spend it with.

In 2003 Janzen and his wife bought a home in Sacramento, California. In the summer of 2007 he became keenly aware that our economy was in trouble as the value of his own home began to decline. As the economy continued to slide and the value of his home evaporated he decided that instead of choking on sour lemons he’d better begin to make lemonade and look for solutions.

Downsizing and becoming more self-sufficient is a big part of his solutions; goals that drive him forward every day.
