Rev. John Shearman, in his commentary on the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin, had this to say:

To God, everyone is important – and loved with an indiscriminate love. No one is excluded. This crucially significant truth speaks to our time when doubt and disbelief often overwhelm faith and guilt causes … John Shearman

What does it mean for us to recognize that God is inseverably one with each of us? It should be empowering. It should give us an inexhaustible supply of energy and joy and peace. It should embolden us to speak up and speak out.

As you go through your day today, especially if there are times when you feel overwhelmed, reflect on the never-absence of God and draw new strength from God’s Presence.
