November 16, 2021

In this segment of Reclaiming History, Lovonia Mallory interviews Rev. Walter Arthur McCray to discuss the differences between white and black evangelicals and the racist manifestation of "Trumpism” and it’s contribution to the attack on the capital.

Rev Dr. Walter A McCray is a Chicago-based author/publisher, servant of the Church and community, national speaker, and a leading voice in black evangelicalism as the president of the National Black Evangelical Association. REV. DR. MCCRAY is a Gospelizer, a holistic “Good News messenger” of Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord. Since 1999, REV. DR. MCCRAY has served as president of the Chicago-based National Black Evangelical Association, an African-descended and -focused ministry of reconciliation founded in 1963, which promotes biblical and cultural integrity. In this capacity, REV. DR. MCCRAY has written Pro‐Black, Pro‐Christ, Pro‐Cross: African‐descended Evangelical Identity (Black Light Fellowship, 2012). It is a message set against the backdrop of white evangelicalism and manifestations of racism. Within context, it is a foremost statement of African American evangelicalism from the self-determinative perspective. The National Black Evangelical Association can be reached at www.the-nbea.org/
