January 05, 2015

Episode 8 features hugely successful Nicki Conway, a Sarasota, Florida Realtor whose team sells over 100 homes and over $30 Million dollars in real estate per year.  Nicki is incredibly inspiring and one of the most loving people I've ever met.  In this episode, Nicki shares her journey.  Having grown up in a very poor household to parents with 9 children, Nicki married right out of high school, had two kids, divorced, worked and put herself through college.  She raised two wonderful successful children, married the love of her life and she and her husband Jack have built an awesome life together.  Every step in her life prepared her for the successful career she has built in real estate: beginning as a Production Manager for GE Advertising & Sales Promotion, becoming a pioneer as a woman salesperson in print advertising, then as co-owner and head of the sales team at their building supply company.  Nicki's positivity, excellent communication skills and utter determination are so uplifting!

In this episode you will learn:

Forging and Maintaining relationships with strong communication
Creating solid systems and procedures to convert internet leads

Nicki quotes:
"The internet is everything to me" -about her real estate business.
“I think you need to constantly change and go with the flow of what’s happening in the world of real estate”

“Because every day we are rejected, we make a phone call the lead hangs up, no working with another realtor - or you take somebody out and they buy from some guy at an open house - it gets you down, you need to be constantly thinking about how smart you are and how great you are and what a wonderful service you provide to people.”
"Everything I did in my life lead me to real estate."
“I’m not going to do things in my business that I don’t like to do”
"I would rather stay in touch with the people I know than going out and calling expireds."
“I think you need to stay interesting, to be interesting you need to read books, or travel as much as you can.  you need to get out and talk to people.  You don’t want to be taking people out to look at houses and not be interesting to talk to”
“I love my buyer’s agents - they’re all sweet wonderful people - they love the real estate business, they love people, and I love them, and I hope they love me back”.
"Every day I’m learning about new things and I love technology.  I crave learning about new things."
“I always say that real estate is like Christmas, there’s something new every day, every day is different, it’s not boring, every day I’m going to be talking to someone interesting.”
"It thrills me more than the money - that every day I’m been able to bring these agents along and help them in their business - I love the mentoring part of my business - that excites me."
“I think you have to think positive in everything that you do in life.  Positive thinking is how I got through all of my hard times - I always see things in a positive light.  For some reason I’ve always had a positive can do attitude - get rid of all the negative things in your life, then good things happen to you.  I’ve known people who have a big black cloud over them - they’re not thinking positively - the first step you need to take is start thinking positive.  A negative thing that you think is negative could be a positive thing."
