PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled "The Winepress of the Wrath of God (Part 3)" from Dr. Ed Hindson's book "Revelation: Unlocking the Future."

Three angels fly across the sky, one after another, making dramatic and climactic announcements. These are followed by a fourth announcement from heaven itself. Each of these is a proleptic remark. Each serves as a summary statement (preview) of what is to follow.

The second angel says, "Fallen, fallen, is Babylon the great".

A second angel follows the first one, presumably flying through heaven as well. He announces in advance the fall of Babylon, which will be described in detail in chapters 17-18. It is described as "great" six times in the Apocalypse. This is the title Nebuchadnezzar, in his pride and arrogance, gave to the literal Old Testament Babylon.

OCCUPY TILL I COME: We are continuing our journey through the book, "Coming Events and Present Duties," by J.C. Ryle. This section is titled, "Occupy Until I Come!" (Part 6) based on the parable of the nobleman who went away and left talents for his servants to use in his absence in Luke 19:11-13. J.C. Ryle writes:

I commend these things to your serious attention. I entreat you to throw aside all prejudice, and view the subject I am dwelling upon with calm and dispassionate thought. I beseech you to take up anew the prophetic Scriptures, and pray that you may not err in interpreting their meaning. Read them in the light of those two great pole-stars — the first and second advents of Jesus Christ. Bind up with the first advent — the rejection of the Jews, the calling of the Gentiles, the preaching of the Gospel as a witness to the world, and the gathering out of the election of grace. Bind up with the second advent — the restoration of the Jews, the pouring out of judgments on mere professing Christians, the conversion of the world, and the establishment of Christ's kingdom upon earth. Do this, and you will see a meaning and fullness in prophecy which perhaps you never yet discovered.
