What’s up everyone, welcome to episode 33 of The Project Mayhem Sessions! We’ve got a good one for you this week stacked with tons of brand new electro and progressive house tracks followed by a guest mix by our friend Edwin from Elektrik Gem.

Edwin is the DJ of  new up and coming duo Elektrik Gem with Billboard platinum artist, Clive Farrington. They released their first demo on January 1st, 2014 called “Lost in Vegasâ€, an up beat mesh of tough programming and melody that is going viral and has gained the act a lot of internet exposure. Clive Farrington is lead vocalist for successful 80’s band “When In Rome†who had the United States number 1 dance tune in the Billboard charts and current classic “The Promiseâ€. Edwin works together with Clive and producer Mark Hall which was part of UK electronic dance duo “Flip & Fill”, who had 6 top 30 singles in 4 years including their biggest hit “Shooting Star” which reached #2 in the UK charts.

Four Questions with Edwin

1. How would you describe your musical style? 

That’s a great question. Idk I kind of just mix what’s on my head and sounds right. I’d say my style depends on my mood. I guess I like to keep things fresh and in the moment. If I had to choose then I’d say a little bit of everything. Mashups and quick transitions with massive drops.

2. Who are your favorite DJs or biggest influences? 

My biggest influences would have to be Diplo, Afrojack, Angger Dimas, Steve Aoki. Very successful artists that I look up to.

3. What’s the best show you have attended so far?

Mad Decent Block Party w/ Major Lazer (Diplo). Those guys know how to keep the crowd engaged. It’s genius.

4. Current favorite songs? 

Oh wow. That’s tough. In my head I’d go with Gareth Emery-U (W&W Remix) and Jessie J-Price Tag. The last one isn’t EDM but it’s like my anthem that best describes why I do this lol.
