Episode 52 - Navigator’s Phantom Ships Release!!! & more symphonic prog

November 06, 2014

This is an exciting show for me personally because I got to play for you a new album to be released November 11, 2014. The band, Navigator, has masterfully made Phantom Ships as their 3rd cd and I have to say it’s by far their best. Here’s some info on this luscious band:

“Navigator was formed in the summer of 1998 with the mission to fill the current void, evident in this genre’s niche, by creating a “true†retro-progressive sound and taking it to its next level – to the hungry listeners. Their vessel is driven by Rick Catanese on Bass, Michael Soro on Guitars, Rob Thurman on drums and vocals and Marcangelo Perricelli on keyboards and lead vocals. The band’s approach to arranging music is somewhat unique… using the keyboards to lay out a canvas of colorful textures, ethereal and atmospheric sounding guitars complimented by the full sound of a dynamic ensemble of percussive instruments and a solid and crisp low end foundation. Counterpoint, mood setting intros and catchy melodies are also very strong focuses in their creative process creating the NAVIGATOR sound.”

I also added some beautiful symphonic music to round out the show for you this week….music that compliments the Navigator experience in a special way. Thank you for listening and as always it was assembly with love.
