Jon Bradford is the Managing Director of Techstars UK. Techstars is a mentorship-driven start-up accelerator that runs regular programmes in the UK and across the US. Techstars also runs programmes for corporate clients like Disney, Barclays, Nike, Qualcomm and R/GA. Jon has a long history in the startup community going right back to 2000. Jon also set up The Difference Engine, the UK’s first bootcamp accelerator and later Springboard which later merged with Techstars. This experience gives Jon a unique perspective on the UK startup scene and the challenges which startups need to overcome in getting their products to market.

I really enjoyed my conversation with Jon. We talked about what makes a great products, the challenges for startups in London, the UK government's record on startups and the growth of startup clusters in developing markets. This is a slightly longer podcast than usual, but I think the depth of the conversation warrants the length.
