Ben Alun-Jones is a designer and engineer with a background in defence technology and digital manufacturing. In early 2013, he started Knyttan with co-founders Kirsty Emery and Hal Watts. The Knyttan team are coming out of an intensive bootcamp with the Techstars London startup accelerator and have grand plans. Their aim is to provide high-quality clothing that people can design themselves and in doing so, they are building the clothing “factory of the futureâ€.

This was a fascinating interview where Ben laid out Knyttan's plan for collapsing the fashion manufacturing supply-chain. In doing so, they want to allow designers to interface directly with the machines making your clothing. This provides designers with a level of control never seen before. And fashion is only the start.
