PPU 053: The Novelty Effect on Productivity

October 16, 2016

In this episode of the Productivity Power Up podcast, we talk about how the novelty effect can impact your productivity.
I was inspired to talk about this topic because I am very easily bored, so much so that I switch productivity tools on a regular basis just to keep things fresh. Although I usually feel a little bit bad about doing this because it seems as if I’m wasting time, I always end up feeling refreshed and even more inspired to get stuff done after every “move.”
In order to understand this behavior and the resulting productivity boost, I researched the effect that novelty can have on productivity. We share my findings here, and give you some tips for introducing novelty into your day.
