Powering America with Chris Faulkner – Dec 19, 2014

December 19, 2014

Join Chris Faulkner, President and CEO of Breitling Energy and Parker Hallam, President of Crude Energy along with radio host Thomas Miller as they discuss news and current issues facing the U.S. Energy Industry.

Breitling Energy CEO Chris Faulkner and Thomas Miller 's featured guest today is John Hofmeister, the former President of U.S. Operations for Shell Oil. John discusses his forecast the next 3 to 6 months in the oil industry.  John Hofmeister says this is simply supply and demand, and predicts it will ultimately settle in the high $70’s to $80’s by next fall when both factors normalize.  He feels this sell off is an over-reaction by traders who took the price down too far.

Dr. Charles Ebinger also joins us.  He is a Sr. Fellow at Brookings Institution in the Energy Security Initiative. Charles, testified last week at a hearing in the U.S. House of Representatives on preliminary discussions on lifting the crude oil ban. If Congress passes a bill to lift the ban, he believes the president would veto it. However by lifting the ban, it will start producing light type of crude oil, open the door to more domestic production via fracking and would create new jobs.

Chris and Thomas wrap it up with a long over-due Friday afternoon rant on President Obama, including a virtual insult from Venezuela's President Maduro congratulating him on his position on Cuba.
