Today the Animal Wise Radio team meets up with Adam Roberts, Exec. Director of Born Free USA. BornFreeUSA.org, a wildlife conservation leader, has been shining a spotlight on the dire plight of elephants in Africa due to illegal ivory trafficking. We'll learn more about their recently published report, "Out of Africa: Mapping the Global Trade in Illicit Elephant Ivory".

Partnering with C4ADS.org, a data centric nonprofit, they have a greater body of evidence that can inform conservation strategy - beyond borders. Don't miss this fascinating conversation about how our peace and security relate to protection and conservation of African Elephants.

Michael Mountain of EarthInTransition.org speaks of last week's march for climate change awareness and wonders at our own chance for redemption.

And Mike and Beth highlight some zany announcements and news from the world of companion animal welfare. Ed Sayres, former head of the ASPCA has been one of the leading opponents of the No Kill Movement. Now, he seems to be claiming credit for having founded it. Plus: Douglas Anthony Cooper utterly destroyed Merritt Clifton in an article at Huffington Post. We will share that story with Audio from Clifton himself, and his "good friend" Colleen Lynn of DogsBite.org (Note: They are two for the Cuckoo files!)
