Today the Animal Wise Radio team goes Retro with some special reflections from our own history, and the history of the No-Kill movement in America. Our special guests come to us through recordings in the Way-Back machine, and include Nathan Winograd (NoKillAdvocacyCenter.org) and Marlene Foote, (AnimalArkShelter.org), one of Animal Ark Shelter's founding members.

This summer, we have been celebrating the "No Kill is Love Tour," featuring the documentary film, "Redemption," as it is presented in special showings across the country and is anticipated in upcoming film festivals. As we move to a new and better future in companion animal sheltering, it is right for No-Kill advocates to look at where we've been so we can keep knowing where we want to go.

Michael Mountain, of EarthInTransition.org also weighs in on convoluted messaging, and questions the merit of the animal welfare position taken by HSUS and other animal welfare advocates, versus the abolitionist movement.
