An Open Podcast To Men: Let’s Be More Understanding Of Women

March 03, 2014

Last week I asked our female followers the following question: How often do you get hit on, and what percentage of those interactions are pleasant and/or non-creepy. As you might have guessed, the results were mostly one-sided. Most women reported that they get hit on often (at least once a week, and usually several times a week) and the majority of those times are unpleasant or uncomfortable.

But one thing in the Facebook thread stood out in particular.

The comments made by some of the males reflected a misguided viewpoint in American society: that women have become egotistical — even bitchy, due to constant attention. In this short five minute podcast, I talk about why I think it’s necessary that men should seek to be more understanding of women if we hope to improve the romantic dynamic between both genders.

Give it a listen here:

Share your thoughts with us on this. For the female listeners, what are your experiences with being hit on? What makes an interaction creepy versus one that is friendly and pleasant? For the male listeners, what are your experiences with defensive or unapproachable women and how has this affected your viewpoint towards women in general? See you in the comments.
