Another of our Culture Event videos… Consider for a moment what the phrase ‘Bread of Life’, or the phrase ‘Daily Bread’ might mean to you.
Theologically loaded phrases, which don’t TRANSLATE into cultures and languages without BREAD.
Pei is one of those cultures, and we’ll need to CONTEXTUALIZE the gospel for them; not merely ‘TRANSLATE’ it. If they are to ever understand this story, we need to know how they live, and how they think, so that we can align the concepts in scripture with appropriate parallels in Pei culture, and translate from there.
This is a humbling and overwhelming task… Even for a team of 5 of us! Please continue to pray for us as we work to understand Pei Culture and Language!
