Get Out of the Boat (마태복음 14:22-32)

August 07, 2014

2014ë…„ 6ì›” 29ì¼ ì£¼ì¼ 1부 예배 ì„¤êµ (졸업 ê¸°ë… ì˜ˆë°° ë° ë‹¨ê¸°ì„ êµ íŒŒì†¡ 예배)

“As each of you examine your own role in making disciples, I invite you to consider how Jesus might be calling you, both individually and as a church, to get out of the boat.  It is your job to pray and listen for God’s voice.  It is only when it is Jesus calling you out of the boat that you can successfully walk on water.  Otherwise it’s just another hair-brained idea and you’ll sink like a rock. (í•˜ë‚˜ë‹˜ì˜ ëœ»ì„ ì°¾ì•„ ê·¸ 뜻대로 부르실 ë•Œ 바다로 내딛는 ê·¸ ë°œì´ ë¹ ì§€ì§€ 않게 í•˜ì‹œë¦¬ë¼ ë¯¿ìŠµë‹ˆë‹¤)

Maybe the kind of rist you are called to is what these kids today are being commissioned for. They are leaving the comforts of their home to go to the other side, Puero Torico.

Maybe the kind of risk you are called to has more to do with how you do ministry rather than where you do ministry.  Would anyone feel comfortable walking in these doors?  Sometimes we think we welcome all people but have subtle clues about who is acceptable and who is not.  (어디서 사역.. .어떻게 사역… 우리 êµíšŒë¥¼ 들어오는 누구ë¼ë„ 환ì˜ë°›ê³ , 편한 마ìŒì„ 가질 수 있겠습니까? 다가서는 것 쉽지 않습니다. 그러나 take risk… 다가가서 ë§ì„ 걸어보는게 ì˜ˆìˆ˜ë‹˜ì´ ì—¬ëŸ¬ë¶„ì„ í–¥í•´ 주시는 믿ìŒì˜ 결단…)

Maybe Jesus is standing there outside the boat and calling to you, personally. Maybe God is calling you to a new ministry within the church, or a new job, or a new attitude.  (새로운 사역으로 부르실 수ë„, 새로운 ì¼ë¡œ, 새로운 ìžì„¸ë¡œâ€¦) I hate it when Jesus asks me to risk a new attitude.  I like my old ones!  Maybe God is calling you to better stewardship of your time or your money or the environment. (재물과 í™˜ê²½ì— ëŒ€í•´ ì²ì§€ê¸°ì˜ ì—í™œì„ í•˜ë¼ê³ â€¦) Stewardship always seems risky because we believe that if we give more there won’t be enough left for ourselves, but I have found that when God directs me to give, there is always enough left over.
