Parental Geekery

Episode 46 - Nissan LEAF, Alton Towers and UKPOD14

August 25, 2014

Welcome back to another episode of Parental Geekery. After our discussions about the Nissan LEAF last episode we were asked about the purchase price for the vehicle, so we talk about that, along with an update on how we’re getting on with the car. We do a lot of calculations of the running costs (not all of which are correct, but we think we get there in the end!), and we also talk about how the LEAF copes with long distance driving. You can read Ruth’s full review of the Nissan LEAF over on her blog. We’ve been driving the 100% electric car for the last 6 weeks as part of the Go Ultra Low campaign.

We had a fun family day out at a PR event at Alton Towers, and tried out the new CBeebiesLand rides. You can hear what we think about that, and John reminisces about visiting Alton Towers as a kid.

And finally we talk about our experiences at the UKPod14 Podcasting conference. Huge thanks to our lovely friends who looked after the kids for a day so that we could go and network with other UK podcasters. We talk about the state of podcasting the the UK versus the US, and our takeaways from the conference.

At the end we ask if you enjoy the show that you leave us a review in iTunes. This is one thing that you could do to show you enjoy the show and to hopefully help us to attract more listeners. Thank you in advance :)
