Ep 22: If You Want To Be Successful, What Should You Major In? with Founder of EngineeredTruth Matthew Tran

October 05, 2015

There's so much miscommunication between the real world and school.

How many times have we heard the story of a student studying nursing for 4 years, actually gets a career in nursing, and then drops out? Or the stories of going to law school and quitting because you hate being a lawyer? Or going down a path of engineering and switching careers altogether?

Far too many, and Matthew Tran is a living example of this.

Matt started off as a Mechanical Engineering major and had 3 different internships in that field! But he hated it. The people were awkward. The work was tedious. The environment was toxic. That just wasn't for him.

So what did Matt do? He quit engineering to do YouTube full-time and he has by car the most honest channel for career advice out there. Matt interviews real people who have gone through their process to share their true experiences.

None of the BS , "It's a job and it pays well. I can live with it" kind of stuff.

Matt digs DEEP. What parts dont you like about it? What do you like about it? Why did you quit? Matt wanted to find out the TRUTH hence his channel name, Engineered Truth. Matt has a mission to have a channel where young people can learn and make educated decisions about their future careers.

With almost 5 million video views, Matt jumps on the podcast today to share his opinions on jobs today, what majors should you go in, and his personal journey of hardships and success.
