How to make your life a Dream, instead of a nightmare...

If you were taking care of a child you loved, and he requested of you to live his dream life: playing video games all day and eating nothing but junk foods that make him "happy", would you support him in doing this?
Instead, you would try to figure out how he can actually live into the life of his dreams: become a capable, healthy, compassionate person.
Maybe he enjoys science fiction so you find him some exciting sci-fi books to read together, and you discuss with him how the ideas could affect society.
For exercise, you discover that he loves frisbee, so you join an ultimate frisbee team together, to play while exercising and learning team work.
You look up certain recipes that include healthy ingredients that satisfy his appetite.
You know that if he does these things on a regular basis, then 5 or 10 years from now, he would become the kind of person he is really proud of. That is a dream life.
(If he had only lived what he thinks is his "dream life" now, he would in 1-5 years be living a nightmare: unhealthy, no real-world social skills, and only capable of playing video games.)
In this same way, Your higher self is yearning for your DAILY self to live into the life of your dreams.
Not the "dream life" you can live today, because that may very well turn your life into a nightmare in 1-10 years. Instead, the dream life that your wiser self wants you to live into does require you to take different actions now.
Step 1 -- IMAGINE.
Imagine that you are 5 years older. At that point, you are living the life of your dreams. What does it include? What kind of person are you?
Sketch out your dream life in the areas of:
Your healthYour skillsYour financesYour businessYour relationshipsAnything else important to you
Step 2 -- HABITS.
For each life area, what are the daily and weekly activities you would need to do in order to, step by step, reach that dream life?
Step 3 -- OPTIMIZE.
For each activity you've written down, brainstorm how you could make it more convenient, likely, or fun for you to do!
EXAMPLES:
* Exercise by taking a daily walk to one of your favorite spots, while listening to a podcast you love. For variety, switch which spot you walk to each day, and which podcast you listen to.
* Eat healthier by looking up healthy recipes with ingredients you love, for example using www.supercook.com
* Do more consistent writing by joining a writers group where you are asked to regularly share pieces of writing with a trusted partner, and be inspired by the progress of others in the group!
* Make consistent progress in your business by joining Our Highest Work: www.ourhighestwork.com/community and posting 1 update each week, including any progress as well as any learnings and questions you have. Comment on 2 other people's updates. You'll make new friends this way and make your true livelihood journey more enjoyable!
