Peter Abrahams – Publisher, Washington Business Journal

March 12, 2019

Peter Abrahams, Publisher of the Washington Business Journal, enjoys running into Andy O once every month of so. As Andy always says connect the dots. Well, that’s how he and Peter met, through a mutual friend who happened to have gone to elementary school with Peter in Boston. He credits Ted Leonsis with huge growth in DC via AOL and Monumental Sports. He also points to a new risk-taking generation of Washingtonians with the prevalence of stock option offerings from new companies to their employees. Regarding who he is today, he credits his grandfather, mother and mentors, Jane Ottenberg and Richard Creighton. He realized the power of print when he became publisher for DC Magazine and discusses with Andy how, together with the committed, talented and dedicated people he is fortunate enough with which to work, he will use that to positively impact the business community now through the Washington Business Journal. Abrahams is reverent toward his predecessors and knows he is following in the footsteps of two remarkable men. He is looking forward to building on their successes and seeking new opportunities for growth. Enjoy this insight into the thoughts of the new publisher of the Washington Business Journal.
