Samaritan’s Purse DC-8 cargo plane is rushing more than 13 tons of critical medical supplies to Ethiopia in response to the recent turmoil.

A regional hospital has been significantly impacted by the violent internal conflict in the northern region of the country. This hospital is the primary provider of medical care to more than 350,000 people—they have the medical staff, but they lack the needed resources to effectively treat sick and wounded families.

Our podcast correspondent was on the ground at the airlift in North Carolina and had the opportunity to hear from the Ethiopian Ambassador to the United States, Fitsum Arega.

“For you to come and bless us with this kind of support tells us who you are,” Arega said. “We really need your prayers that the conflict would end and peace would be restored in Ethiopia.”

Abby Anderson, the Samaritan’s Purse deputy director for international projects, shared how Samaritan’s Purse teams are already working in Ethiopia to quickly receive and deliver the relief items to the local hospital.
