Show Notes

For families in Mayfield, Kentucky, Christmas will look a lot different this year. The town was leveled by a EF4 tornado on December 10th. Less than 24 hours later, Samaritan’s Purse was on the ground.

Now, teams of volunteers are continuing to help hurting homeowners start to recover by clearing debris, salvaging personal belongings, and tarping damaged roofs. Most importantly, they are bringing hope as they demonstrate God’s love in the aftermath of the disaster.

Knowing Christmas would look a lot different for Kentucky families this year, Samaritan’s Purse wanted to bless them this Christmas season. We are planning to feed more than 4,000 people and give away toys and gifts to these families. Melissa, one of our podcast team members, sat down with Andy Jeter, the director of food services, to learn more about this Christmas Eve lunch.
