One of the questions I get asked most still is: “What is fracking?â€Â  Fracking is not a drilling technique.  It is a COMPLETION technique.

We’re drilling wells in exactly the same manner we have for over 100 years.  If fracking is causing any kind of water contamination today, it would have then, and you’d have crude oil in your drinking water.  You don’t, and fracking isn’t causing those problems now.

After we drill the well, we use 90-percent water, 9.9% sand and .5% solution to put about 1 millimeter cracks in dense shale rock.  We don’t blow anything up.  This is sand holding these tiny cracks open.  And from that process, America could be on the road to producing its own oil and gas from its own soil.

Now, does that sound so bad?
