Occasion Vibration

Club Night

May 31, 2015

A good club night doesn't involve sticking to a plan. As a raver since age 15, I've long known this was the case for club goers. Since I started throwing Occasion Vibration parties last year, I've learned sticking to plans as a promotor or DJ is equally as lame. No one is running the show. No single person's vision is realized. It's a collaborative effort between the DJs and dancers.

This mix is not some artistic vision I had of an ideal club night. It's a collection of tracks that most inspired the wonderful folks who come came out to the last three Occasion Vibration parties as well as the other DJs I've thrown the events with. Spencer, Bobby and Charles, there's a track in this mix from each of your boxes. I'm so thankful for your enthusiasm for this party and for turning me on to the music you guys love. Looking forward to more pre parties where we set up sound and lighting rigs shirtless.

So the music. Pretty much every very track here has been a climax of a past Occasion Vibration party. This is like the 92’ Dream Team of the bangers in my record box. If I had to start spitting out genres (which I do since that's the precedent of these descriptions), I'd say the mix runs the gamut of tech house with influences from garage, bass, dub techno and trance.
