Constantine - S1E13 - Waiting for the Man
Jamie and Benn both liked this episode but they have fears that the questions that the season one finally left us with will never be answered.  Benn let's the audience know where this weeks episode's story came from and gives credit to Jamie Delano.  He also voices his opinion of the portrayal Satanist of in this the season finale.
On the last episode of season one, which could be the last episode of Constantine, we find Zed and Constantine back in New Orléans.  In Waiting for the Man Jim Corrigan has called upon Constantine for his help with the disappearance of a teenage girl.
A visit to a cemetery to investigate markings that could be Satanic brings Gary Lester back in to the picture.  He inhabits a dead body to tell Constantine that there is a bounty out for his life.  Cut to Papa Midnight's lair where he is killing a man in order to turn him into a voodoo zombie who's mission it will be to kill Constantine.
If those two story lines weren't enough for you let's add in a third where Zed is plagued by her reoccurring visions of Jim Corrigan dead with a green glowing light around him.
The investigation keeps the three of them in close enough contact for Jim to realize that Zed is holding something back from him.
Jumping back to the missing girl storyline Constantine must induce cardiac arrest while chewing on some of the hair from the missing girl to have a vision since all Zed has in her head is Jim.  He see that the girl was taken away from an old amusement park and that is where they head.
During their search the girl, Vesta, is being prepared to marry "The Man", by three girls that have already married him and are really spirits.  "The Man" is a Satanist who is looking for a pure bride.
Zed finally gets her visions back and they are led to a house where “The Man” killed a security guard.  Why know one knows because they never explained why he needed to kill him.  Constantine ask Zed and Jim to leave to go and find the girl because he knows Papa Midnight is on his way.  Constantine save himself my reanimating the dead security guard and making him look like himself.  Papa Midnight kills him thinking he has killed Constantine.  Constantine knocks out Papa Midnight and called the cops.
Constantine makes his way back to the abandoned amusement park to meet up with Zed and Jim to find and help Vesta who has know escaped the "The Man."  Once "The Man" is caught Constantine convinces Corrigan to kill him in an act of vigilantism.
Later Constantine walks in on Zed kissing Corrigan after she tells Corrigan of her vision.  Feeling angry and jealous Constantine  walks off and is visited by Manny, who tries to reinstill his faith in their ability to win the war with the Rising Darkness.  This is all very ironic since the last seen of the episode Manny frees Papa Midnight and tells him to leave Constantine alone, that the contract on his life is over because he controls the La Brujeria and flies off.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Manny is or might be the Rising Darkness that controls the La Brujeria, but we may never know if NBC decides not to bring the show back for a second season.
