Constantine - S1E8 - Saints of Last Resort
This week Jamie and Benn start off by sharing some thoughts about the town they live in, Baltimore, before they jump in and discuss Constantine S1E8, Saints of Last Resort.  When they finally do get to discussing Constantine and Chas' jaunt down to Mexico Benn shares some information about the artiFACTS found in this episode.  Benn is a font of information about Native American purification bowls, gothic runes, Invunche of Chilean folklore, the La Brujeria, Lamatsu and the rest of Eve's sisters.  Couple that with his knowledge of the Hellblazer comic and what is to happen with the Resurrection Crusade and the Damnation Army, this is one entertaining and educational podcast
Jamie gave the episode 7 out of 10 baby eaters and Benn gave it 3.5 out of 5 purification bowls.  They both liked how the show is finally taking shape and the introduction of a new character á la Sister Ann Marie, and old flame of Constantine's.  It seems the show is now finding its footing and moving in a narrative direction as we find out that the La Brujeria, an ancient group of Warlocks, are the big bad that is raising the rising darkness to breakdown the barrier between hell and earth.  We also learned more about Zed, especially her real name and that she was some type golden child to a cult group that desperately wants her back.
Jamie and Benn both agree that they would have enjoyed the episode more if the production team would've uped the ante when it comes to special effects.  They agreed that effects meant to be scary just looked funny.  Benn's comment was, "The effects looked like Doctor Who effects and I don't mean that in a good way.  No offense to Doctor Who."
