71-Don't Think Just Act

When To Not Think & Just Take Action     Who will achieve your goals? Who will change your life?   What will it take? Just for a single split second think what what it will take for your goals to become real? (really quick)   There are probably some things that need to happen, steps you need to take, things you’ll have to do to achieve your goals.   Do stuff is taking action. You know one thing that can stop all action? Thinking.     Thinking Can Stop You Have you ever thought about something you should do to help make progress toward a goal? And then after thinking about if for a few moments decided to back down and not do it? Maybe it was too scary, challenging, you didn’t feel like doing it in the moment, or just didn’t have that surge of motivation.   What If You Just Did It? What would happen if you didn’t think about it when you had that impulse to take action? What would happen if you just took the steps? Just Do It! right?   That perfect feeling of strong, focused motivation is a bunch of crap. It’s not there, doesn’t exist, and won’t help you. What does exist AND will help you achieve, improve, and succeed is moving forward. When you’re taking steps toward your goals, you make progress. Now, your progress can help you feel good a can be motivating.   When I’m sleeping in my comfortable bed, having a nice dream, and my alarm goes off do you think I’m motivated to jump up out of bed? Ha! No! But, you know what will make it worse? Laying there and thinking about getting out of bed makes it even more difficult to move. Have you ever been there? Knowing that it will help you just to get up and get going, but you start to think about and don’t just move. This morning I was sleeping and it was great. Then, my alarm went off. I sat up, got out of bed, and got going.     2 Things Doing And Not Thinking Can Do For You   You’ll Make More Progress You’ll get more done. Get closer to your goals. Create the life you want. Make changes and improvements.   Enjoy The Journey More Sitting thinking about what you know you should do, what you could be doing, what later you’ll wish you would have done, thinking about those things is not pleasant. It can be defeating. You’ll know that you’re not doing you’re just thinking. Often, just taking steps toward your goal isn’t that bad. Thinking about having to do the work can be worse than just doing it.     You Can Eat Your Elephant! One Bite At A Time Don’t think about the bite or the steps you will take. Take that step, take the action, and move forward. There is a great book that is all about just acting in the moment and not thinking that I want to recommend. It’s ‘The 5 Second Rule’ by Mel Robbins.
