July 9, 2016 Game News Update – Steam Sale Profitability, CSGO Controversy, Shift to F2P

July 09, 2016

This week in game news, there’s been a controversy involving gaming and gambling, a spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus hit Kickstarter, the Steam Summer Sale was very successful in spite of seemingly unwelcome changes and Evolve has gone free to play- was that the right decision? All this and more on this week’s episode of Game News Update. If you’ve come to find out more about the week’s crowdfunding projects, you’re in the right place. First off, Prey for the Gods is succeeding on Kickstarter and it looks absolutely epic. At the time of writing this, the developers have almost hit the halfway point of their ultimate goal- if you’d like to see more of the game, the trailer’s embedded below for your viewing pleasure. We also featured a game called Columnae: A Past Under Construction, which you can check out here. If you’re fond of adventure games or dark steampunk settings, you should check this one out as it looks pretty unique. Something about the aesthetic and backstory remind me of The Mysterious Geographical Explorations of Jasper Morello combined with Ergo Proxy– the trailer for this one’s embedded below as well.
