July 2, 2016 Game News Update – Dev Accidentally Steals from Activision, 3D NES Games, G2A Makes Changes

July 02, 2016

This has been quite the week for game news- remember that case with G2A and tinyBuild last week? Well, it’s not resolved, but G2A has announced that they’re taking steps to improve things for developers which is nice. This week, a game was removed from Steam when Activision claimed that it infringed upon their copyright; the game’s lead developer didn’t believe it initially, until he discovered stolen art assets in his game- assets that he’d not known were in the game. Also, we talk a bit about playing NES games in 3D (and how to go about doing that), the latest game releases and much, much more- check it out in this week’s episode of Game News Update. If you’re wondering where to play All Hail the Spider God, you can check that out over here– it’s a free, funny text adventure about a religion that revolves around spiders. I don’t want to say too much more lest I spoil it, but it’s the right blend of silly and serious; it feels like Lovecraftian weird fiction in a lot of the right ways. If you’re wondering about the crowdfunding project for the new System Shock, you can check that out over here– there’s a demo available to download if you’d like to try it out before putting down money to pay for its development.
