73°F Much cooler weather this past week comes to an end as High pressure and hot weather is on its way!

July 10, 2016

Hey Hey Giovanni here! Your Weatherguy. Here are this week’s Podcast shownotes.
Weather rewind:
– Much cooler and below average as a deep trough over the Pacific NW kept a steady flow of storminess across Washington and Oregon.
– High pressure onshore kept us dry and breezy at times as the clouds stayed mostly to our north.
– The week ended dry and much cooler than the previous week as the strong Low associated with the deep trough finally passed to our northeast.
– It looks like next week will be much warmer and near normal as High pressure quickly rebuilds behind the Low that brought us the anomalous cooling trend.

Weekly Forecast:
-The coming week looks very dry and becoming hot by Wednesday as High pressure returns with a vengeance as our daytime highs will gradually jump 20 degrees to the low 90s ending our cooling trend.
-Expect daytime highs to reach the low 90s in Grass Valley/Nevada City while Penn Valley gets closer to the mid 90s .
-Long range forecast models keep us dry for the next 7-10 days with some cooling late in the week as another Low approaches the Pacific NW bringing back the onshore flow, but no major heat waves are expected as the onshore flow will remain intact as the storm track across the Pacific NW remains active influencing our weather.

The Low across the Pacific NW brings us the coolest weather we’ve had in weeks.

June – August Precipitation and Temperature Outlook: Dry and hot!

Gorgeous park weather at the Alta Street Park in Grass Valley.

Current reservoir levels still look with the bulk of the snow already melted.

A very active storm track to our north keeps us cooler for now.

The jet stream will soon retreat north allowing for warmer temps as High pressure dominates our weather soon.

Forecast models look dry for us as High pressure offshore and inland heats us up into the low 90s .

The precipitation outlook map for the coming week looks dry for us as High pressure keeps the rain out of our area.
