49°F April still has some surprises left for us. A busy unsettled weather week is in the forecast.

April 24, 2016

Hey Hey Giovanni here! Your weatherguy. A mostly dry week turned wet on Friday as a highly anticipated late season spring storm pounded the NorCal for most of Friday before High pressure returned to bring us a gorgeous weekend. In total the cold Friday storm brought us 1.24″ of rain and over 12″ of snow above 7000ft with the snow level getting as low as 4500ft but not much stuck that low. While April has not been overly wet it’s still pretty awesome to be getting any real rain this late in the season.

Weekly Forecast: A fairly dry system will arrive tonight mainly spreading rain into the Sierra and Western Nevada with the snow level above pass level. Another better organized system is set to arrive on Tuesday night, but this again will be mostly affecting the interior of California edging into the Great Basin with just showers for us. These storms while wet are are starting to trend to our NE so don’t expect a lot of rain for us this coming week. Just mainly unsettled and wet at times. The upcoming weekend looks dry and warmer with highs in the mid 70s.
*Statewide Sierra snow pack is at around 56% of normal for this date! The snow is really melting fast, but the high country has tons left.
