Antonello Bonci, scientific director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, discusses the changes that the brain undergo both short-term and long-term during drug abuse. Dr. Bonci then talks to us about how optogenetics and other techniques aimed at modifying brain activity might some day help in fighting against pathological behaviors, including drug abuse.
