Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness.
In this audio profile, Avon Middle School leaders describe their system for identifying and supporting students who may need targeted support due to experiencing housing misplacement or homelessness.

Through a data-driven RTI process, educators identify students who need support and connect them with the school’s social worker, who in coordinates with families, educators, and community resources to help students thrive. As assistant principal Mike Ryan reflects, “One thing that Avon Middle School does extremely well is put systems into place immediately upon grasping a new challenge, and assisting our students who are misplaced or homeless is no different than that.”
